The Friends of the Colonel Benjamin Stephenson House will authentically restore and furnish the 1820 Benjamin Stephenson House and its adjacent grounds, serve as faithful stewards in its care and financial well-being, and showcase the historic home's significant role in telling the story of Illinois' earliest days. In conjunction with this mission, the Friends will increase awareness of the region's cultural heritage through educational programming, collections, and hands-on learning experiences for visitors of all ages.
